Jourdain transports audiences back to the glory days of funk and soul with his sensual tones and soaring falsetto.
Whether he’s in the studio churning out fiery new tracks or on stage bringing audiences to their feet with his enthralling live act, it’s obvious that Jourdain was born to bring his instrumental and vocal talents to the masses.
Influenced by greats of the genre such as Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire and Prince, Jourdain was raised on the soul anthems of yesteryear and fast made a name for himself as one of Melbourne’s premier soul entertainers.
By the tender age of 12, Jourdain was singing to crowds of 40,000 people for the NAB Cup. At 13, Jourdain was celebrated as a runner-up on Australia’s Got Talent. With his popularity rising after his national TV appearances, Jourdain toured with guitarist Joe Robinson and performed solo shows at festivals across Australia.
Jourdain took the next few years to live a normal life as a high-school student, continuing his music and eventually earning himself a scholarship to the world- renowned Berklee College of Music. Surrounded by some of America’s most talented soul and R&B artists, producers and teachers, Jourdain honed his skills and transformed himself into a genuine soul artist, capable of composing, arranging and performing music that mirrored the legendary artists of old.
Jourdain accrued performance experience via a traditional method, grinding out gigs at pubs and clubs before working his way up to headline shows at Crown Resorts, the Night Cat and other prominent soul venues around Melbourne. A perfectionist at heart, Jourdain spends hours refining every note, dance move and piece of performance craft in order to put on world-class performances at every opportunity.
With Australia boasting an ever-growing Chinese population, Jourdain is increasingly in demand to perform in Mandarin, making him a full-fledged crossover artist. Jourdain’s soulful style, along with his exhilarating performances, put him in a unique and unprecedented position amongst the Chinese community. Jourdain hopes to bring soul and funk music to Asia in the most authentic way possible.
